If choice I had

If choice I had,
I swear I wouldn't be here
If choice was real,
We'd be exactly where we were before
...cold, lonely; passion free
If choice I had,
I wouldn't give now all of me
Knowing full well it serves another
If choice I had,
I'd lock and hide my soul now
Knowing full well, it serves me no longer...

Gates

I am not lost nor am I found
I open up this wound of mine
For more beloved torture
For I can't shut these gates
These wondrous gates
now open to my soul
For you to love or mar
As you may take such fancy
They're open, passage is clear
A standing invitation, banquet halls
Song and dance, all just for you
To walk inside I hope with love
Yet you may come with weapons
Your full artillery, to maim to injure
All the same...the gates are open,
You alone hold the eternal keys.

The force

I wish I could just walk away
I wish it daily now
I wish my soul could just endure;
The ripping of this force.

I crave our closeness now;
With every second
and second in between
My thoughts are captive to you

Breath in; the air without you
Is Un-nurturing, unkind.
Breath out; the pain sets in,
Unnatural, debilitating ache.

I tried to force myself to go
All say it's better that way.
Dear god, my feet won't carry me!
Souls intertwined dictate,
...bodies and hearts obey.

Goddess of Desire

Speak now, onto the goddess of desire
For she shall hear your plea
And do be wise, to choose your words
Made only of ambrosial honey
For she is captious in her tastes
And bids you worship on herself
With most eloquent words of yearning
And of undying love.

Patience

Oh patience...
I wish I knew you better
I wish I could make love to you
Most tenderly and sweet.
But sadly though,
My pulse has quickened
My thoughts; exploding in a storm.
I am a shell of my zen self,
No patience...I don't know you.

Your Own

Do not be
Envious of others lives,
For they
Will envy you tenfold!
And do not dream
of spoils of others,
for you hold gold of yours.
Do not forget
that you are master
in your own domain.
And wish not to pretend
to live within another.

Love Crazed Fool

How comical it seems to me,
I've always been the love crazed fool
Yet for so long,
I have become the subject of it.
Of endless compliments and roses.
I do not care for it.
Sometimes you love, sometimes;
You are the one that's loved
I dare and say, I'd rather Love
And let my heart burst feeling,
Rather than let it suffocate,
And hear love praises of me.

How to make Elderberry Syrup

Posted by Picasa The winter season is coming to a close so perhaps this may be of some use to folks for the next cold season. Some time ago I wrote of my interest in herbs and their medicinal benefits. I have since made the mentioned before mouth herbal mixture (more on that later) and a few variations of creams. This post here is of course on the most yummy syrup I've come across. Seriously I think I wouldn't mind drinking it daily! The elderberry has been used to support the immune system for ages. Some of its folk uses included improving the immune system, fighting coughs, colds, flus and various bacterial and viral infections. Bioflavonoids in the juice destroy the ability of cold and flu viruses to infect a cell. So basically if you take it quick enough you may stop your cold in its tracks all together or will greatly reduce the offensive symptoms of one. If this all sounds too good to be true...it's not. By my word it actually did just that for me last week. I began to develop a sore throat after my son had a minor cold and I made this batch of the syrup real quick. In 3 days I was back to 100% while never having a new symptom of the cold. There have been various studies on the elderberry juice so feel free to read up on those! I did find in one source that it was used to treat the flu pandemic in Panama in 1995.
So on to the recipe...which I found in Rosemary Gladstar's "Herbal Recipes for Vibrant Health".

1 cup fresh or 1/2 cup dried dark blue or black elderberries
(never use red ones as they may be poisonous in high amounts, never eat raw)
                                  3 cups water
1 cup honey (raw organic is best)

Place the berries in a small pot, cover with the water, bring to a boil and then cover with a lid and simmer for 30-45 minutes. Once cooked mash the berries up. Then strain through a fine mesh sieve. Let the juice cool then mix in the cup of honey. Do not cook the juice with the honey as that will kill all the beneficial attributes within the honey. Pour into a clean bottle or container with a seal.
Voila! You have Elberberry syrup. Refrigerate it once made. It should keep up to 3 months but will be gone way long before then.

Filled of Fragility

Life...you are fragility.
Each breath, worth more
Than any jewel known to mankind.
Each beat;
Worth hearing & remembering.
Each smile;
To cherish as though last.
For we are all of this same cloth...
Fragile...full, of life.

For Sale

You need my body?
Take it please-
I have no use for it.

You need my soul?
Away with it!
It's doomed to hell forever!

You need this heart as well?
Sure; it I can sell-
It's broken though,
Why, can't you tell?

Of Parts

I am of parts,
Of bits and pieces;
Of love & hate
Of jealousy & rage
I am of sweetness,
and of grace.
I am of trepidation,
I am of sin & hateful words
I am of lust,
But mostly I am just-
in awe of all these words!

Clouds Closing

The clouds are closing in upon us
And soon the rain will start
And you and I
Such stupid children
Are running in the field.
The clouds are closing in
We run and laugh yet still
With merry games and fun
We run around the pretty field
While clouds are building in.
The rain, the lightning
Punished us
For sinful childish lust
But if I must,
I'd take a thousand days of rain
To run in fields with you again.

Once Burning Heart...

Buried Alive
Burning and pounding heart
Captured in chains
The bloody throbbing veins
Torn tissue
Of the tortured heart
Tormented to no stop.
Tis' now at rest-
The beating bloody mess!

The Harlot

Are you with Suffering like me?
I know she is a Harlot
Has she seduced you too--
To lie in sad sheets with her?

If she's with you,
and with me too
Let's form and orgy this I say
With Suffering, Distress and Pain

(2001-2002; Book of Poetry Two, another one of me humanizing "suffering")

Love from a Far

To love one from a far...
is easy and discreet.
You'll' never get cold feet
By loving from a far.

You have a perfect world
That can't be touched by "them"
It is within your heart and eye,
You are the master of it!

To love but from a distance
So easy...and yet, insatiable.

A Thought

A thought ran through my mind
You were the thought!
How does that make you feel?
Running in my mind,
Making arched  loops and circles,
You're running in my mind
So honored you may feel
For thought to me is real.
And I have always lived
The thoughts that circled me
Turning themselves reality!

(2001-2002; Book of Poetry Two...I wrote this some time ago for someone, but I find it's meaning still rings true today.)

Temptress

And Death never looked so tempting
As now it strips before my eyes.
She flaunts her poisonous power
And smiles and calls for me.

"Oh come to me, you desperate thing,
I'll save you now and truth you'll see.
Life is a curse!
Escape with me!"

Dared I and answered Death;
"You please me well, my dear Death,
But Suffering has pleased me better,
And so with her I shall now go,
She is the better Temptress!"

(2001-2002; Book of Poetry Two....This brought a smirk to my face now reading it.)

Meddle Meddle

Meddle, meddle
Meddle here and meddle there
You never stop to meddle,
Meddle everywhere.

Some things are not; for you to know
And not; for you to share.
You don't stop "helping" everyday
And fill your days with "good intentions"

I'm sick and tired of your "help"
I can't "afford" to pay you back,
I can't undo what has been done
And will not wait for more to come.

(I think I've been reading too many Dr. Seuss books to my son...so sorry for the ridiculous rhymes that sneaked their way in here)

Exquisite Tongue

I love the way your tongue does roll,
The way the r-r-r slips from it,
And like an engine roars;
Your exquisite tongue me calls.
